The Crete Celebrant
What is a Celebrant?
As an independent wedding celebrant, I specialize in creating and delivering a personalised ceremony that reflects the unique love story of you and your partner. From our initial consultation through to a fun and thoughtful couple’s questionnaire, I’ll get to know you both in depth, ensuring that your ceremony is exactly as you envision: distinctive, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
With a celebrant-led ceremony, there are no limitations—you have the freedom to include whatever feels right for you. Whether you want religious elements, cultural traditions, modern twists, or contributions from friends and family, the choice is entirely yours. You can also choose the length of your ceremony, as well as any songs or readings that resonate with you. My role is to make sure your ceremony is as meaningful and memorable as possible, tailored perfectly to your wishes.
Can you perform rituals?
Absolutely! I can perform a long list of rituals and I have a few favourite of mine to suggest!
Do you travel for ceremonies?

What is the difference to a civil ceremony in Greece?
A civil ceremony in Greece would be done by the local mayor/vice mayor. It is a faff translating documents from English - Greek then vice versa. A civil ceremony can be done in few registered venues and at the time that is given by them. The ceremony is very short - around 5 minuets max and has nothing personal to it... not even vows! I know this because many times I have done wedding's where the couple had both a civil ceremony then a symbolic one by me. I have often helped the mayor with the English translation of his short generic script.
